Yoshida - May 13, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
Maybe a whole new forum for this? Man it's good to see who all the RTW diehards are yanno lol, this should be tight!!!
Hey thats an idea, "RTW Diehards amazing mad good tourny that owns u ALL" should be the name. ;)
Colossus - May 13, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
Not my position to comment, but I like this forum, its active, and saves Titan a of work to have it here.
P.S. Register Yosh :)
The Titan - May 13, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
thats what ive been wondering too yosh. on one side - new forum, looks nice
on the other side - this forum is active and a lot of the clans that are likely to enter are already registered here.
ill keep this forum for now, but perhaps if activity increases a lot, we can easily move to another forum. :)
Yoshida - May 13, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
Yea it will get your forum buzzzing I guess thats a plus.
Hamilcar - May 14, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Yeh i think once you have all the registered clans you need then a new forum would be a must.
Hamil
Bliz - May 14, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
I really think that is taking away from the original format ... dont you think ... hince the rules were copied by you guys lol .. I think they should be the same old rules and thats a vital rule that was changed .... totally takes away from some good strategies ...
The Titan - May 15, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
im lost Bliz - what takes away from what?
no one has denied that they format is adapted heavily from CWB.....the question was do we need another forum for it? i said not really yet, because everyone involved is registered here at the moment :blink:
Oisin - May 15, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
Bliz's post refers specifically to this part of the ruleset:
8 max Foot Archers and Slingers and
6 max of the same unit
Basically, we have classed archers and slingers together and you are allowed to bring 8 in total.
Bliz would prefer last season's rules where it was:
8 max Foot Archers
and the only limit on slingers was 6 max of the same unit.
(At least this is what I think Bliz is meaning as we started this discussion on another part of the RCW forum. Am sure Bliz will either comfirm this is what he means or put me right ;) )
legion22 - May 15, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
Bliz is refering to the fact that slingers are now counted in the max 8 archers.
Alexandros - May 15, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
i personally think the missle maximum should be 10.
Oisin - May 15, 2007 06:03 PM (GMT)

I would prefer if Destroyer members did not give their views here. This is really for discussion between the emissaries of the clans participating in RCW.
If any Destroyer members have a strong view on this, or any other part of RCW, then please contact Titan, Lance, TWF, or myself and our emissary will present that argument if it is deemed appropriate. Thanks :)
Vangelis - May 15, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
as i said in the other thread this is discused in CWB
slingers WERE included on max 8 foot missile
i was emmisary of gerudo there formonths and i know the rules very well
and yes i found exactly the rules (without the one or 2 last modding onthem mayby not sure)
CWB Rules v 3.3
Note: All rules can be negotiated between emissaries. However, an emissary can choose to take default rules. Remember that, the CWB Staff will not investigate the games to check whether a clan broke any rules unless a request is made to us. Therefore, while competing, the competitors should have "awareness" of whether the opposing clan is breaking the rules intentionally or unintentionally. If you provide us any evidence of a rule breaking or cheating, the CWB staff will apply a punishment if the evidence is found valid.
The Competition
Clan War Belt is basically a ladder competition for the clans who are playing the Totalwar Games. It has been referred to as the "ultimate clan competition for the Total War Games" throughout its history in TW. CWB measures the skills of the Total War Clans for different aspects of the game...
The registration is free for any clan during any time in the season. The tournament system is based on challenging other clans to compete in series of games with them. The clans that do not prefer to challenge other clans will also be able to play games and compete in the tourney thanks to the automated fixtures created by our software. There will be different seasons throughout the year which will last about 3-4 months. In each season, every 3 weeks, the clans will be fighting with another clan in series of games. The clans who arrange their games by challenging other clans will play against these clans (thus the clans that they prefer to play against), while the remaining clans will need to play against the clans according to the fixtures posted by the CWB Staff. The games will consist of one 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 matchups each having attack and defense games.
Clan Requirements
Clans participating in the CWB must be relatively active, and have a minimum of 4 players (5 recommended) available to participate in CWB events. (At least 4 members must compete in the series.) The clans must compete in the series games in the competition phases which are organized every 3 weeks. If a clan does not show up to minimum 2 matchups in a series, then the series will be forfeited and the clan that didn't show up will not recieve the 1 point which is normally given to the loser side. If a clan forfeits 2 series (by not showing up to minimum 2 matchups for each series), then it will be removed from the competition. As any clan can register for the tournament at any time, the removed clans will also be able to register again anytime if they wish, but they will start with 0 points just like a newly registered clan.
Registration
Clans need to post a registration thread in the registration forum and register to the tournament software site.
Click here to view the 5 easy steps to register to the Clan War Belt.
Points System
The winner of the whole series will be determined by the "total scores" (explained below). The winner will recieve 3 points, the loser will recieve 1 point. As you see, it is more beneficial to try to play more series instead of playing only one in the 3 week period due to the fact that even the loser clan which completes the series recieves 1 point.
Challenge System
Clans are able to challenge any clan on the table but the belt holder. The team with the highest points has the priority to challenge them. If the team with the highest points does not wish to use their chance, then the priority will go to the team who has the 2nd highest points. If this team does not wish to use their right either, it will go to the 3rd, 4th, 5th highest point clans etc...
Clans are free to reject challenges if they are being challenged or if they are challenging some other clan. However, if the clan has not been active in any kind of challenging, then rejecting a challenge will cost them -1 point. If a clan is challenged by more than one clan, they must respond to the clan who challenged them first. (Who challenged first will be determined by the post times of the official challenge threads in "Series Challenges Forum".) If they decline this challenge, then it will cost them -1 point and the clan now will need to respond to whoever challenged them second according to the post time of the challenges. If they decline this challenge as well, then they will lose an additional 1 penalty point and will need to respond to the clan who challenged them third... It will continue with the same logic if they keep rejecting (-1 point for each decline, and priority going to whoever challenged them fourth, fifth, sixth etc...)
Challenging a clan is a 2 step process. First you need to create a thread in the Series Challenges Forum, then you need to make the challenge through the software. Click here to view detailed information about how to challenge a clan and how to accept/decline challenges.
Matchups and Scores
1v1's, 2v2's and 3v3's are called matchups. Each matchup consists of 1 attack and 1 defense games. Each 1v1 win is woth 1 point, each 2v2 win is worth 2 points and each 3v3 win is worth 3 points. There are 12 possible points and these points are the "scores" within the series thus it won't effect the points recieved by winning or losing the whole series. So, in other words if you win a series 12-0, your clan will recieve 3 points and if you win a series 6-5, your clan will also recieve 3 points. The loser clan will always recieve 1 point unless the series resulted as a forfeit.
If in the end, the score ties to 6-6, an additional tie-breaker 2v2 game will be played. (No attack and defense games, just 1 single game) The clans may agree to play this tie breaker game as a 3v3 or a 1v1, but if they cannot agree, they will need to play 2v2 which is default.
Seasons
Each season will last 3-4 months, and the clan who has held the belt most times will be declared the champion of the season. Each season will consist of phases which last for 3 weeks.
Phases
Each phase will start on a Monday and will end on the Sunday which is 3 weeks away. In each phase:
* Monday - Saturday (day 1 - day 6): Challenging, negotiation and arranging games.
* If an agreement has been reached on the rules, then the games will be played based on those rules. If the clans could not agree, then the default rules will apply and the games will start.
* Saturday (day 6): The CWB Staff will arrange fixtures between the clans who did not arrange any games. It will be simple as the CWB Staff will just match up the clans according to the ranks in the table. If the number of remaining clans is an odd number, then the top ranked remaining clan will not play any games in the phase.
* Sunday (day 7): Games start. The games need to be completed on Sunday (day 21) which is 2 weeks away.
* Sunday (day 7): The default 1v1 day which is to be played on 20:00 GMT unless the clans agreed otherwise. If a clan did not show up on this day at this time, it will have to forfeit the 1v1.
* Sunday (day 14): The default day for 2v2 which is to be played on 20:00 GMT unless the clans agreed otherwise. If a clan did not show up on this day, at this time, it will have to forfeit the 2v2.
* Sunday (day 21): The default 3v3 which is to be played on 20:00 GMT unless the clans agreed otherwise. If a clan did not show up on this day, at this time, it will have to forfeit the 3v3.
* When all the games are completed on Sunday night (day 21), the emissaries of the clans (both the winning and losing sides) will need to log in to the competitions site of CWB and submit the results. Click here to view in detail how to enter results. Also, one of the emissaries need to post in the Fixtures and Results Forum. The results that were submitted to the software without also posting in the fixtures and results forum will be deleted by the CWB Staff.
* On next Monday, a new phase will begin and the process will repeat. 2 weeks and 3 weekends should be enough to play 3 matchups, so please do not complain about the time being not enough. Remember that 1st Monday through 1st Saturday is for negotiating so only clan emissaries will be busy during this time. Also remember that, clans do not have to challenge nor negotiate (although it is advised to do so), so they may simply skip this phase and wait for the CWB Staff to post the next fixtures.
* Note that you are not obligued to play the games on the default days. The default days are for not agreeing on when to play the games. All that is important for the CWB Staff is that the games should be completed by the end of Sunday (day 21) and results should be submitted followed by a post in results forum.
* Remember to save the replays for each game that has been played. Without sufficient evidence (replays, logfiles etc...), it is impossible for CWB Staff to make a decision in case of a dispute.
Maximum Number of Series Games During a Phase
The maximum number of series games that can be played during a phase is 1...
In Game Rules
Default Rules that Apply to Both BI and RTW
* Camera: Unrestricted
* Arcade Mode: Disabled
* Unit Size: Normal
* Time: No Limit. If the game must end, and there is a dispute as to who won, the referee will watch the replay and appoint a winner based on logical battle potential to win. If it is UNCLEAR as to who is going to win, the match can either be rescheduled, or will be voided if there is not enough time before the series is over.
* Camping: Allowed for the defense game. Banned for the attack game. Corner camping is BANNED.
* Fire: Allowed
* Artillery: Banned
* Elephants: Banned
* Berserkers: Banned
Default Map Rules (Note: These might be changed soon, the CWB staff hasn't put much thoughts about maps, sorry)
* Game 1
Type: 1v1
Map: Darth: Crimania-field
Weather: Snowfall
Season: Winter
* Game 2
Type: 2v2
Map: Near the Nile (in the map pack--Desert Map)
Weather: Hazy
Season: Summer
* Game 3
Type: 3v3
Map: Grassy Flatlands/Cow's Pastures for BI
Weather: Calm
Season: Summer
BI Default Rules
* 12.5K Denarii
* 6 max of the same unit
* 10 cav max (includes all cav units)
* No cantabrian circles
* No artillery
* No elephants
* No berserkers
* Max 6 missile (archers+slingers+crossbowmen+HA)
* 6 Max HA (count as both Cav and archers)
* In any army containing steppe horde HAs, one steppe horde HA does not count to archer limit (even if the player only has one) This rule can only be applied once per team.
Factions for BI
* In 1v1, attacker will choose the faction first, then the defender.
* In team games, first a player from the attacker team will choose, then a player from the defender team. It will continue this way (1 attacker - 1 defender) until all factions are chosen.
* Once a faction is clicked and chosen, it is forbidden to change it.
* Clans can choose each following factions (or their duplicates) only once for each game:
o Roxolani / Sarmatian
o Alemanni / Lombardii / Burgundii
o Saxons
o Sassanids
o Huns
o Berbers
o Eastern Roman / Eastern Roman Rebels
o Western Roman / Western Roman Rebels
o Romano-British
o Celts
o Franks
o Vandals / Slavs
o Goths / Ostrogoths
In other words, if you chose Eastern Romans (or E / R rebels) in your attack game in 1v1, you cannot choose Eastern Romans (or E /R rebels) again in the defense game or in any other remaining games. This is an important default rule in CWB (although you can negotiate with your opponent clan not to apply this rule) so that the skills of clans are not measured only depending on performances shown with Eastern Rome and Barbarian factions.
* If one faction conflicts in the clans' remaining factions list in the last game of the series, clans can pick Roxolani/Sarmatian additionally (either Roxolani or Sarmatians) even if they played with this faction in an earlier game. If two or three factions conflict, then in addition to Roxolani/Sarmatian, clans can also pick Vandals/Slavs additionally. (Either Vandals or Slavs)
Tie Break Game for BI
* As default, tie break game is 2v2 and the factions to be played with are: Eastern Rome / Lombard vs Eastern Roman Rebels / Burgundii
* There are no attackers and defenders.
* The game will be played on Cow's Pasture Map.
RTW Default Rules
* 12.5K Denarii
* 8 max Cav
* 6 max of the same unit
* No artillery
* No elephants
* No berserkers
* 8 max foot archers
* 2 max HA (Count as Cav, but not as Archers)
Factions for RTW
* In 1v1, attacker will choose the faction first, then the defender.
* In team games, first a player from the attacker team will choose, then a player from the defender team. It will continue this way (1 attacker - 1 defender) until all factions are chosen.
* Once a faction is clicked and chosen, it is forbidden to change it.
* Clans can choose each faction only once for each game. In other words, if you chose Selucids in your attack game in 1v1, you cannot choose Selucids again in the defense game or in any other remaining games. This is an important default rule in CWB (although you can negotiate with your opponent clan not to apply this rule) so that the skills of clans are not measured only depending on performances shown with Rome and Cataphract factions.
* Roman factions is an exception to the above rule. Clans can use Roman factions in maximum 2 games, eventhough there are 4 Roman factions in the game.
Tie Break Game for RTW
* As default, tie break game is 2v2 and all 4 factions will be Roman factions.
* There are no attackers and defenders.
* The game will be played on Grassy Flatlands Map.
Bliz - May 15, 2007 06:28 PM (GMT)
yes what Oisin said lol ^_^
Alexandros - May 15, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
oooooooooops sry i didnt know :unsure:
The Titan - May 15, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
did we need the entire post vangelis?! :lol:
also, last seasons rules were indeed max 8 foot archers or slingers as he said
i personally favour this rule completely...the only faction that would really be affected is parthia, which would then be able to field 6 archers, 6 slingers and 2 horse archers if they wanted. i think we'd all agree that that would border on "spamming"
other factions such egypt would also then have the possibility of taking 8 archers plus 6 slingers by these rules, and 2 chariot archers again.......quite unfair i think again.
imagine a 3v3 facing carthage, egypt and parthia........carthage could field 12 slingers (2 types), egypt 8 archers (2 types) and 6 slingers, and parthia 6 archers and 6 slingers :o
thats 38 missile units by my maths <_< , which i would take absolutely no fun in facing to be honest.
Bliz - May 15, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
it efects Britt as well .. although i dont use Brits :laugh ... simply the best way to counter charr or ha is with slingers and the 8 max takes away from certain counter factions ...
The Titan - May 15, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
slingers are good on chariots yes.....but is there a need to take 6 PLUS 6/8 archers? i think not.
remember, head hurlers do not count in the max 8 missile max, so brits are unaffected. you could still take 6 HH and 6 slingers with brits if you wish.
also, to counter chariots, you dont only need slingers, you can use archers, cavalry and obviously pikes.
Bliz - May 15, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
I dont really care ... Im tired about arguing the rules .... I was just under the impression that we were playing 2006 rule set .. I just want to compete .. CWB was suposed to start yesterday and im sure everyone is getting impatient .. well i am anyways .
Alexandros - May 15, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
yaaaa brits arent effected :)

tbh, i think we are agreed on rules - only change is that people can negotiate max 1 ele per team if they want...but rest are same as they currently are i think
btw, i hope to start officially on monday the latest - if not this weekend :D
Vangelis - May 16, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
actually according to CWB 2006 rules ALL Ingame rules are negotiatable
except for arcade mode of cource
maps and weather were negotiatable as well
but i never changed a rule in cwb except the first chalenge cause cwb rules are the best
The Titan - May 16, 2007 03:22 PM (GMT)
i am about to update rules topic - if there are no problems with it then, we will be good to go i think :)
challenges will start either sunday or monday....not decided yet :)
Splinter - May 16, 2007 03:29 PM (GMT)
