Title: Max 1 ele?

Hamilcar - May 14, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
With the rules, can we include 1 ele, as tho expensive i do like the idea of having the extra dimension in the game. Though perhaps too expensive and a case of all the 'eggs in one basket' especially for 1v1s but 3v3s could prove quite interesting to have or face.

Yea I like that rule, but I think it should be negotiable.

Foehammer - May 14, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
yah that would be awsome

One thing, I have played a few games with this, sometimes, it just gets sent off in a rage straight away, and others, it can kill a whole army with little or no effort, personally I dont think they need any skill to use, and just make the game luck of wheather the ele goes crazy or not.

The Titan - May 14, 2007 06:56 AM (GMT)
i think that max 1 ele per team should be a negotiated rule perhaps - whereas default should stay as no ele.

Im with colo tbh after using ele on a few occasions and having faced them ive come to the conclusion that its more a matter of chance than anything. Sometimes it goes amok after one or two vollys other times it never does an can wreck an army in seconds and sometimes ruin a game especially at 12.5k. Im always against ele i mean if we're going to allow max 1 ele why not allow 1 art, hell why dont we make the money 10000000 and take "superman" units :laugh

Foehammer - May 14, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
if u r willing to take the risk of a ele then u should have the opportunity to do it.

Hamilcar - May 14, 2007 02:56 PM (GMT)
I personally think the choice should be that of the user to take the 'chance' or not.
I dont believe its always a matter of chance tho, luck is made sometimes, like a scyhed chariot there is an art to using eles too, I have found that depending on how you deploy ur eles and their formations have an impact on their effectiveness just as Chariots and Archers are effected by the method of deployment and formation. People who chose to just throw an ele into the battle usually find that the eles do become a matter of 'luck' as ur enemy could have poor ele counters one time and good next, or could be a good player or a poor one who does not spot the danger at a perticular instant. Infact you dont always need to use eles to have some benefit from fielding them, like most 'big cards' they can have an effect on the battle in the way the enemy responds or the strategies he or she has to employ.

Anyways i agree it should be negotiated, but the default rules will be left to the majority vote i assume?

Well art isnt much fun imo, and is probable more 'luck' dependent. The idea with 1 ele, is simple an extra dimension, 1000000k infact would reduce the dimensions of the game not increase them, as limited money makes some units usefull, if it was unlimited every army would be 'superman units'

The randomness of eles is quite sexual. This should be a negotiable rule, and even though I don't like eles, as yo usay they do add that extra dimension to the game.

The Titan - May 14, 2007 03:15 PM (GMT)
thats why i think that default should be "no ele" - as some people do think that they ruin games, whereas others think that they add another dimension to it. if both clans agreed on "max 1 ele per team" i wouldnt mind, but i think that it should be an agreed think rather than default.

I do however believe most teams will resort to the default then as a result as there is likly to be some1 in the team who perhaps wouldnt want them so i cant imagine seeing any eles in the tourney as a result but should still be a fun tourney.

In last season's CWB, no ele was the default rule. However, despite this elephants did feature in quite a few matches. Quite a few clans are quite willing to use the max 1 ele rule and so I expect elephants to feature again in some of the matches.

The rules for the tie will be negotiated by the respective emissaries before the tie starts. If both agree to allow max one elephant then that will be used in all the battles - (ie a player cannot then insist on using the default rule just because he doesn't like facing elephants).
